Soothsayer Wines was founded in the belief that community brings with it the truest form of joy. We see wine a wonderful tool to enable the gathering of people and their common expression. The name "Soothsayer" was derived from Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra", wherein the Soothsayer character, although skeptical about community as a means to find joy, agrees to join Zarathustra for a communal dinner. In the midst of the dinner the Soothsay exclaims, "we deserve wine—it alone giveth immediate vigour and improvised health!" And so we hope you find the same immediate vigour through our wine and your community.
